ORGAN INFORMATION |
The OUSCDB organ database lists a Tallman, 3 manual, 4 division organ of 45 stops as having been installed in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in New Orleans, in the 1800's. We were not able to confirm whether the church referred to was the same congregation that occupied the building above, however it is doubtful. This area of Chef Menteur Highway would have been a mud or dirt road Indian trail at that point in history, and it would not have been developed to the extent of needing a Catholic Church until after the first quarter of the 20th Century. New Orleans Churches was not able to confirm what organ was being used in this church, as we were not able to access the building even prior to Katrina. . |
